XEOMIN is the newest “frown fixer,” now available at EsthetixMD medspa. When you squint or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. As your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines, also known as dynamic lines.
At our office in Bend XEOMIN is a cosmetic injectable that can help. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in XEOMIN – is used in facial aesthetic treatment to treat glabellar lines – the “11” between your eyebrows. It acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN can temporarily reduce the frown lines on your forehead between your eyes. While the three are similar, XEOMIN (incobotulinumtoxinA) does not carry the proteins present in the other products. This lessens the possibility your body will react to treatment by forming antibodies that can render the product ineffective. (This is typically seen only in patients who have used botulinum toxin for an extended period.)

RECOVERY FROM XEOMIN INJECTIONS IS MINIMAL
As soon as you leave our office, you can resume your regular activities! However, you make some precautions after treatment to ensure the best results. You should not touch the treatment area for a minimum of three hours after your appointment. Four to six hours after treatment, avoid lying down or exercising to prevent the XEOMIN solution from traveling to other areas.
