What to expect during and after Fraxel treatment

The Fraxel treatment typically takes about two hours from the time you arrive at the office. We use a topical anesthetic to make sure you are comfortable during the treatment, and then the clinician will use the Fraxel device on all of the areas of your face that will be treated, passing it over each location multiple times. The lasers from the device produce a heating effect, but at our medical spa in Bend, we use cooling mechanisms to keep your skin at a comfortable temperature.

After your treatment, you may experience some mild redness, swelling, or peeling for up to a week. You can use high-quality mineral makeup during this time, and we recommend the use of a high SPF mineral sunscreen to prevent sun damage. Any hyperpigmented spots that were targeted will typically turn bronze first and then will fall off about three to four days after the procedure.

More than one treatment is usually needed to achieve the best results.
